Veterinary Nursing Manager Job at Lamond Veterinary Clinic – in Livingston

Job Description

Posted on 11/06/2021

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for one or two candidates to join us and lead our exceptional nursing team.

We are looking for 2 full time Registered Veterinary Nurses to take on the new roles of Veterinary Nursing Manager and Lead Clinical Veterinary Nurse. We have expanded our current vacancy into two separate roles so that at least 50% of your time can be spent leading from the front on clinical duties. However, we would consider a single combined role for the right candidate.

Duties will include: organising rotas, HR, stock management, health and safety, promoting clinical excellence, overseeing staff training and equipment maintenance.

For both roles excellent communication and organisation skills are essential, alongside a passion for veterinary nursing.

About the Practice

We are a busy RCVS accredited small animal practice with a motivated team made up of 10 vets, 13 RVNs, 3 VCAs and 8 support staff.

We aim to ensure the skills and expertise of our Registered Veterinary Nurses are fully utilised and valued in all aspects of practice and are happy to support all interests. Vet/ nurse certificates currently held in the practice include Soft Tissue & Orthopaedic Surgery and ECC.

Our exceptional reputation over the past 66 years speaks for itself as our clients voted us “Best Scottish Vet” in 2018, 2019 and 2020. We work in bright, spacious purpose-built premises with plans for a refurbishment/ expansion underway. Our practice is particularly well equipped and our caseload is large and varied with many longstanding, loyal clients. We work closely with the Scottish SPCA and other local charities and are an RVN training practice.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for a confident all-rounder who has a positive, resilient attitude. The ideal candidate would be level-headed with excellent communication skills. Candidates need to be confident in all first opinion nursing duties and previous management experience would be advantageous. Candidates must be Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) and a full UK driving license is useful but not essential.
