We are looking for a motivated Technical Coordinator to join our team based at our Crossness – Abbey Wood, South East London – SE2 9AQ.

As this role and the team covers the whole of the Thames Water estate, we are flexible where this role can be based so any of our sites with STW with CHP generation:

What you’ll be doing

The Technical Coordinator is responsible for ensuring materials and services are in the right place at the right time to allow the planned and reactive work to take place to ensure the team’s asset availability targets are met.

This role will involve day to day contractor liaison and management, input into future planning and solutions, to ensure the team’s planned and reactive maintenance work is completed by the required SLA.

We’re looking for you to:
Co-ordinate the ordering of parts/equipment required to complete jobs

Managing contractors effectively and communicating extensively with them to carry out specialist mandatory work

Maintaining, tracking and reporting on the OPEX and CAPEX spends

Liaising with other team members to understand the plant availability

Be involved with planned maintenance on site

Maintaining SAP activities

Be involved with the review of Plant performance and provide improvement recommendations

Liaise with the Planning Team by attending all planning meetings

Maintain inventory of critical spares, working closely with the LMC to achieve this

Take ownership and deliver local capital schemes

Assist in Health & Safety briefings and procedures, working proactively with the safety equipment team and statutory inspection

Be accountable for finance in terms of monitoring spend of contractor and reducing costs of materials

Team engagement and providing guidance where required and completing agreed actions

We are looking for someone who ideally has:
Experience of using SAP technical planning workbench and ordering

An understanding of engineering principles

Able to consistently produce work of a high standard with strong attention to detail

Excellent interpersonal skills – able to communicate in a friendly, open and constructive manner with a range of people to build relationships and improve efficiencies

Able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision and be proactive

Good decision making abilities

Competent and confident using IT systems

Full driving licence required
