As a Talent Manager, you’ll also Input into and implement our corporate talent and performance strategy through research and adoption of best practice talent management approaches, to ensure that we are equipped to identify, retain, mobilise, and develop diverse talent profiles that meet the needs of the business now and in the future.

What you need to do

Lead the annual talent review, proposing best practice interventions, insights into the health and diversity of the talent pipeline for both Operating and Plc Board and owning action plans against talent priorities identified as part of the talent review

Lead cross divisional projects to design key talent products and processes, such as performance management, talent mobility and reskilling, through internal and external research

Regularly engage with extensive internal and external networks to identify leading edge, best practice solutions that drive our talent agenda

Act as a Talent Coach to high potential colleagues, supporting them to create and implement their Personal Development Plans

Work with other talent coaches and senior talent partners to facilitate talent mobility of talent pool colleagues

Identify key development themes across the high potential population, and collaborate with the Leadership Development team to provide a framework of development options to address these themes

Continuously identify further opportunities to embed and improve our performance management approach through internal research and review of external trends and approaches

Conduct post implementation reviews and analysis of our performance and talent approaches and use this insight to inform how we continue to improve our approaches

What you need to know and show

Extensive knowledge of emerging trends, literature, and practices in talent management

Ability to think strategically allied with a practical approach to execution and creative flair

Ability to flex approaches and plan to deliver on our priorities in an ever-changing environment

Extensive knowledge of and previous experience in delivering talent management strategies and tools

Access to a strong network of contacts and resources within the field of talent management

Up to date knowledge of thought leaders in the space of talent management

Strong programme and project management skills

Knowledge of external best practice relating to representation and progression of diverse talent

Ability to convert qualitative and quantitative analysis into insights and proposals

Ability to develop strategies across multiple business areas

Ability to engage others, of all levels, in initiatives by being credible and persuasive to stakeholders

Influence through grounded confidence and credibility in the presence of senior people, responding in an appropriate manner to criticism and remaining optimistic in the face of obstacles

Commercially aware with sound business knowledge

Thinks ahead to ensure that the organisation takes a long-term view on resourcing and developing talent
