Full-time and part-time roles available
We’re a complex, challenging group of people who live together in a residential home in the Waterside area of Derry/Londonderry.
We’re all very different and our interests are varied such as going to the woods for walks, bowling, swimming, shopping, going to church, supported to access therapeutic work and health care appointments, going to the theatre or cinema, playing pool/snooker, bus/train trips, supporting us to maintain positive physical and mental health.
Many things are important to us, including communicating with us, our independence, our privacy, our family/friends and honesty.
The support we need to help us get the most out of our day is as varied as we are.
But whether you’re helping us communicate with others more fully, supporting us with our daily living needs including personal care, manage physical and psychological health, household tasks, supporting us to go to the bank or see the doctor, supporting us to plan and accompany us on our holiday either as a group or by ourselves or participate in an activity, you’ll help us get the most out of life. If you are fun, friendly, adaptable, hardworking and imaginative, you’ll help us all feel safe, secure and fulfilled.
We have two vacancies for full-time positions working 37.5 hours per week and two vacancies for part-time positions working 22.5 hours per week. The full-time salary is £17,374 pa and the part-time salary is £10,424 pa.
These posts are also subject to a satisfactory enhanced Access NI check.
Communication is a basic human need. Yet most of us know someone who struggles to communicate through hearing loss. It can cause substantial harm to friendships, family relationships, confidence, employability, mental health and life chances.
The RNID (formerly Action on Hearing Loss) is the UK’s largest charity for the 11 million people in the UK who confront deafness, tinnitus and hearing loss every day. Established in 1911, we help people to take control of their lives and live the life they choose, removing the barriers standing in their way. We give people support and care, develop technology and treatments, and campaign for equality.
We champion the value of difference and equality and celebrate our diverse and inclusive workforce. We actively encourage applications from eligible candidates from BAME backgrounds or who are deaf or hard of hearing. With almost 20% of our employees having a disability we proudly hold Disability Confident Leader status and guarantee an interview for disabled applicants meeting the minimum essential criteria.
