The Student Funding Team is based within the Student Centre, alongside the Accommodation, the International Student Advice and Student Adviser teams. We are now recruiting a Student Funding Officer to join our busy team. The role provides an advisory service to prospective and current students on a wide range of student funding matters and administration of student funding schemes including US Loans and the City Hardship Fund. The role involves attending promotional events and delivering presentations to students, parents and guardians.
The appointed Student Funding Officer will provide advice and guidance across a broad range of subjects on a one-to-one basis, in person and virtually. They will administer US Student Loans, International student funding, the City Hardship Fund, the City Undergraduate Bursary and Scholarship schemes. Working proactively and collaboratively with a wide range of internal staff from across the University as well as with external stakeholders including regional student finance authorities to provide a holistic approach to students’ specific funding needs.
The successful candidate will have a strong working knowledge of student funding and be knowledgeable with student support regulations. They will possess excellent customer service skills, well developed communication styles and be able to provide a prompt and professional service responsive to the needs of students, using diplomacy and empathy. They will be a team player with a flexible approach to work, possess the ability to apply an analytical approach to problem solving, and work to a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Experience of complex administration tasks including working to strict policies and procedures and working with large complex datasets will be key to success in this role.
