Are you an experienced Structural Engineer seeking a new job in the Bristol area?
My client has built a new Specialist Project Team to meet the changing demands on their property portfolio and is looking for a Structural Engineer to join them on an initial interim basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the refurbishment of some of the older stock, conversion of properties and community spaces, extensions/ changes to existing properties to meet the longer term needs of our customer base and reduce the Housing waiting list.
Take on a variety of projects and be involved in all aspects from scheme design, through to construction on site
Undertake site visits in relation to extension and refurbishment, as well as working on existing-build schemes, and have a good understanding of procurement and contracts and how to achieve high quality results
Be able to use ladders and scaffolds to access works
The ideal candidate will have a BEng or MRng Civil / Structural Engineering or Engineering Design and Commercial Experience or similar. As well as, experience with computer software- notably TEKLA Structural Designer, Robot and TEDDS.
Good knowledge of various construction types and to have experience in the management of major development, building construction and refurbishment projects including demolition from inception to completion and be able to develop new ideas and innovation and demonstrate best practise
Self- starter with excellent communication and organisation skills who is a good team player that will enjoy working as part of their dynamic, growing team
Good knowledge of steel, concrete, timbre and load bearing masonry structures is essential and the ability to design to British Standards or Eurocodes
Hold a full driving license
