Senior Project Engineer – Energy – Dublin
Nicholas O’Dwyer is currently looking for a Senior Project Engineer to work within our new and growing Energy & Natural Resources team at our head office in Dublin. The position will allow remote working during COVID and flexibility once restrictions are lifted.
The successful candidate will be working as part of a new and growing team providing multidisciplinary engineering services for the energy industry with a particular focus on gas networks and renewables. The Senior Project Engineer will fill a pivotal role in the team and will have the opportunity to significantly progress their career with the company.
The Senior Project Engineer will have a client facing role which may include a range of responsibilities and tasks such as:
Project tasks and responsibilities:
Design & project management from conceptual phase through to project completion in the Energy and Utilities sectors primarily in gas pipelines and installations (TX & DX) but may include areas such as renewables (biogas, biomass, CHP, solar, etc.).
Development of preliminary and detailed design calculations.
Development of design drawings and specifications.
Development of conceptual, preliminary and detailed design reports.
Hazardous area classification & ATEX assessments.
Balance of plant design.
Design & implementation of energy saving projects.
Industrial utilities design, HVAC, steam, refrigeration & compressed air systems.
Business Development activities including tender preparation
Team development and leadership activities
You will be degree qualified (Level 8 or higher) in Civil Engineering or other engineering disciplines such as Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Energy relevant to the role
You will have a minimum of 8 years post graduate experience of which you will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working on gas networks in Ireland or UK.
Have experience in the delivery of engineering services projects for GNI and will be very familiar with GNI processes and procedures.
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise work and manage many tasks concurrently.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team.
