We are eagerly looking to recruit a Senior Analyst (Data Management) to join our Group Data & Analytics Office within Bank of Ireland!

Who are we?

The Group Data & Analytics Office (GDAO) is a central team with the strategic goals of: Simplify Data Architecture, Drive Data Quality and Accelerate the adoption of analytics to transform the bank, engage our customers and deliver value.

Reporting to a Senior Manager, this senior analyst will be part of a scrum team to Metadata or measure Data Quality across the Bank to inform data consumers and meet regulatory compliance. The individual will be a full-time member of the BCBS 239 Programme.

The role holder will work closely with other members of the Group Data and Analytics Office (GDAO) and senior stakeholders across the Bank to drive Data Management adoption and embed cultural change.

Key Accountabilities

Contribute to Data Management activity, including data lineage, profiling and quality

Build high quality data visualisations to provide business insights into data quality and profiling

Adopt new tooling capabilities including UAT testing and integration of new/existing analytical tools

Engage stakeholders in response to business needs, and support the Groups strategy and values

Take a proactive approach to problem solving and validating team findings, issues and gaps through data analytics and root cause analysis

Implement best practice approach for Informatica Axon and IDQ to support both Data Management and business users

Identify critical areas for data remediation – technical (systems) and core data

Develop data management expertise, leaning on GDAO colleagues, external data management SMEs (BCBS 239 Programme) and industry sources

Continue personal development by pursuing Analytics Institute, DAMA and Informatica certification

Communicate and promote the value of data management throughout the business areas assigned to you and the Group as a whole

Who are you?

Essential Qualifications

Third Level qualification in data analytics / mathematics / statistics / IT or another discipline including a significant numerical element

Essential Skills / Experience

2+ years of experience in data analytics, including working with large datasets, relational databases and experience with a combination of tools such as SQL, SAS, Tableau and Python

Good communication, presentation and business partner skills to work effectively with wider GDAO, finance, front-line business and risk teams

Previous experience with our key Data Management toolset or equivalents – Informatica (Axon and IDQ), DAG, Teradata and Tableau

Interpretative and analytical skills, with the confidence to provide a professional, objective and independent viewpoint

Demonstrated experience of delivery to tight and challenging targets with a proven ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines

High energy, bias for action, drive for results, strong resilience and focus on execution excellence

Desirable Qualifications / Skills

Analytics Institute of Ireland Data Analyst certification or equivalent

Previous experience with an agile environment, value prioritisation and design thinking

This job can be done anywhere in Republic of Ireland the primary office location as Dublin to which travel will be required for in person collaboration.
