Job Description

We are looking for a advertising sales superstar for a new lifestyle magazine based around coastal living so a passion for living by the sea is essential. The magazine covers a variety of subjects from articles local artists shopping deals marina developments sailing boat reviews property resturants reciepes sea life and environmental campaigns and events.

It is a monthly magazine with monthly targets the magazine however is not primarily advertising and so the spaces are limited to an absolute maximum of 50% of the pages but ideally 20 to 30 pages of advertising a month so the job will eventually be more of an account management position and building long term relationships with local businesses is just as important as the sales themselves.

We need a motivated and target driven individual to contact local business such as boat sales, estate agents and local marine businesses to sell the space. Previous experience selling magazine space or media sales is essential.

The position is self employed to begin with earning 20% on sales however after three months a basic salary commision permanent package can be negotiated for the right cadidate including bonus perks such as gym membership and rewards.

The position will be remote bases due to covids however flexible working is available once the business contacts are established and space is easier to sell it may well be that you only need to work part time and if your hitting the target thats fine work the hours that suit you to get the job done.

After covid there will be an office space available for meetings and to come in but we are flexible with working arrangements if you still want to work remotely some of the time thats fine. We are happy to be flexible for mums in that if your child is sick or you need to stop work to collect them we understand you can work school friendly hours from the office or arrange meetings phone calls etc during this time and work remotely through holidays half terms and after school however suits you best stressed workers don’t hit targets at all so we want to give you the best working solutuion to help you with the role.

Requirements For Success

  • Target driven-hungry for success
  • Minimum of 2 years B2B Advertising Sales experience in a similar role
  • Having a “whatever it takes” attitude is a must to hit targets
  • Self-starter with the ability to create sales
  • Top research skills is a must
  • Ability to connect with the right decision-maker
  • Your sales skills must be top of the game
  • Flexible approach to obtaining the sales
  • Ability to work from home at least for now
