Quality Engineer Job at Protolabs UK – in Telford
Collect and analyse Quality data for the Injection Moulding service lines.
Lead problem investigations, collaborating with Production teams where required.
Lead and manage Kaizen events for improvement of internal and external issues through to sustaining improvement.
Continually seek to improve processes and manufacturing efficiencies.
Liaise with the Proto Excellence teams at Proto Labs HQ to support new processes and projects.
Liaise with Manufacturing Engineering department when required to support process and equipment changes.
Communicate improvement activity results, companywide.
Maintain procedures for documentation.
Conduct company training when required.
Provide data and report out quality performance at agreed intervals.
Ensure thorough investigation and execution of corrective and preventive actions associated with internal processes, vendors, and audit findings.
Perform internal audits of the Quality System, and support external audits of the Quality System.
Provide assistance as needed to all departments of the company for continual improvement.
Adhere to all quality and safety standards within the department.
Continually seek to improve individual performance.
Adhere to all company policies and operational procedures.
Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Be a leader of change for Protolabs.
Skills / Experience:
Experience of toolmaking and the injection moulding industry essential
Continual Improvement and Mechanical engineering background.
Knowledge of ISO:9001 and Kaizen.
Creative problem solving.
Strong business correspondence skills.
Demonstrate sound business judgment.
Ability to work well with all functional work groups within the company.
Independent, dependable, resourceful and self-motivated.
Aptitude / Competencies:
Engineering degree preferred.
MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Comfortable with technology (computers, software, plastics, RP technologies, tooling etc.).
Able to present data or projects to a wide audience
Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field
Enthusiastic: Shows intense and eager enjoyment and interest
