The Role

We are looking for truly exceptional product developers to work on projects across several product categories including hardware, lighting and bulbs, furniture and electricity (sockets and switches). These roles includes taking an agreed concept and defined aesthetic, and developing a design that is both highly manufacturable and meets relevant certification standards.

As a product developer, the buck would stop with you. You would fully own the projects allocated to you so a solid track history of having run projects through to final on-time delivery is essential. You would need to hit the ground running so experience in developing these or similar products is essential. You will be the face within the company for your projects and you would report to upper management on progress and delivery. To this end, excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Buster + Punch is a dynamic and fast growing company so experience in working in a fast moving, thorough and rigorous consultancy style environment would be advantageous. This role requires a meticulous approach to research, specifications, certification and delivery. You will work collaboratively with our manufacturing partners using your skills and technical expertise to bring our products to market. International travel will be required.


· Technically developing new concepts to final products

· Produce and maintain full critical path for each project

· Manage your own time and project resource against the project timeline, always endeavouring to keep allocated tasks on schedule

· Report to upper management on progress and delivery of projects

· Work with engineer to develop products to the brief

· Own and ensure product range diagram is up to date at all times

· Work closely with factories to get a detailed production process and timeline for each new product

· Lead on critical commercial analysis

· Understanding of certification requirements for products in an international arena

· Generation and maintenance of technical files

· Review returns data and work closely with manufacturing partners to determine and eliminate production defects

· Establish quality standards and inspection processes on new products including manufacturing tolerances and finishing limits

· Continually seek out new ideas and process improvement opportunities

· 5 years in a product development role

· Proven track record of understanding the design/concept process through to manufacture and marketplace delivery

· Working in a multicultural environment. Experience of Asian markets and manufacturers would be an advantage

· Experience in working in fast moving consultancy style environments beneficial

Education and Qualifications

· Engineering Degree preferred.

· A-level Maths, Physics preferred

· GCSE Maths and English required.
