Process Engineer Job at SEVERN TRENT – in Derbyshire
Our Capital and Commercial Services Teams are fundamentally changing how we work within AMP7, we are bringing our design capability back in-house to provide better value for money for our customers and enhancing our expert client capability. As part of this innovation we are looking for an experienced Process Engineer.
This role comes with a large scope and is a key role that ensures process leadership by ensuring the optimum process design choices are made for all capital projects from inception (Gate 1) through to completion (Gate 6), in particular to contribute to selecting the preferred process solution for the site and leading the process design before handing the project over to the Lead Project Manager for delivery
Let’s talk about the key accountabilities of the position…
Responsible for all process design decisions within the portfolio of projects on your programme.
Evaluating process choices, clearly identifying process risk and the benefits to whole life cost and low carbon effects.
Providing technical expertise and technical input for delivering the optimum process solution for a project including learning from other projects.
Working collaboratively with key stakeholders including treatment process engineers, colleagues from all levels from senior leaders through to front line operators and external bodies such as the Environment Agency and environmental specialists.
Contributing to the development of commissioning plans and offering solutions for optimisation. Feeding back learning points into project programmes.
Consulting and liaising with national and international industry technical experts to ensure Severn Trent are at the forefront of process design.
Responsible for upskilling developing process engineers and sharing design knowledge.
The skills and experience required to be successful include…
Your experience of the sector will be key and therefore we’d look for you to have significant experience in water, wastewater and sludge treatment and process technology along with great risk management knowledge and understanding.
A personably stakeholder management style, strong presentation skills and commercial awareness will also be needed to be successful in the role.
Teamwork is key across capital Design and Delivery so we’d want you to assist with defining team goals and actively drive problem solving/ information processing and support the team in translating this information concisely.
- Degree qualified in a science, environmental or chemical engineering related discipline or equivalent
- Full UK Driving License
