Bank of America in Dublin currently has an exciting opportunity available for a motivated individual looking to work in a dynamic environment.

The successful applicant will ensure a high level of client service is provided to both internal and external clients, whilst complying with internal procedures, controls and regulatory requirements.

Based in Central Park, Dublin 18, the purpose of this role is to work as part of a team that provides efficient operational support relating to Transaction Tax for our trading desks and clients across various EMEA markets. In addition we provide timely settlement for securities in the major European Markets on a specialized basis. We are responsible for a varied number of middle and back office functions and play a vital role within the firm supporting our trading desks and clients.

In addition to the day to day operational responsibilities, the team is responsible for delivering on various projects and process improvements that the team is currently engaged in. The successful applicant will ensure a high level of client service is provided, whilst complying with internal procedures, controls and regulatory requirements.

Transaction Tax and General Tax Operations experience is not a pre-requisite, we will provide full training and support for the successful candidate. This high profile role offers exposure to non-standard processes, interesting projects as well as exposure to multiple lines of business and senior management.

Responsibilities will include:
Working as part of a team responsible for providing operational support for EMEA Transaction Taxes. These taxes include UK Stamp Duty Reserve Tax (SDRT), Irish Stamp Duty, French Financial Transaction Tax (FTT), Italian FTT, Spanish FTT, Greek Sales Tax, South Africa STT and also include 2 levies (PTM and ITP)

Ensuring the timely and efficient processing of EMEA transaction tax on behalf of various businesses

Working closely with the EMEA Tax department to ensure any changes to legislation are understood and applied to operational workflows

Ensuring efficient settlement and operational support for our trading desks and clients across a varied range of products. This team supports a number of different equity & debt products including Equity (both paper and electronic form), Mutual Funds, Delisted Equity & Corporate Broking

Ensuring efficient processing of common depository global notes that are maintained via Dublin secure room

Taking the necessary action to ensure resolution of all failing trades

Daily processing of payments and journals

Investigating and resolving exceptions resulting from market settlements

Escalation of potential risk and exposure to management in a timely and efficient manner

Employing networking skills to manage relationships with custodians, clients, relationship managers, middle office representatives and information sources

Monitor shared inboxes to ensure all queries are responded to within agreed SLA

The Team:
Global Markets Operations (GMO) delivers support for Global Markets sales, trading and underwriting businesses, and certain shared services across securities, derivatives, foreign exchange, futures, options and commodities products for Corporate Treasury, Corporate Investment Portfolio and Wealth Management. This team sits within the Securities Core Trading Operations division which manages the daily operations of our Global Market client base, handles post-trade operations and is the primary interface to Global Equities Trading partners.

Core skills:
Knowledge and/or experience of Banking or Financial services industry

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize own workload

Accuracy with a keen eye for detail especially when under pressure

Self-motivation and ability to work with little supervision

Ability to work to tight deadlines

Flexibility in attitude and approach with a desire to learn and develop skills and knowledge

Proven multi-tasking skills combined whilst being accountable for ownership through to resolution of assigned tasks

Ability to work as part of a team in providing support to colleagues and ensuring that the department maintains optimum performance and delivery of objectives

Ability to understand the workflow in detail and to raise any concerns or issues

Solid PC skills

Third level qualification or equivalent by experience
