Job description

& supervision support provision would reflect the successful candidate experience. This post is open to newly qualified OTs with a view to Band 6 development pathway within 12 months. For those who are more experienced, there will be a leadership aspect in this role.

Base:  Adarna House

Step-down Service (Male Mental Health with a secondary diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder)

Responsible for:

Providing assessment and treatment of occupational dysfunction and enhancing social inclusion opportunities for each person within our care at Adarna House.

You willwork closely with the MDT and in particular the support workers on site.

Educationon support in engagement in purposeful and meaningful activities in activities of daily living and the community will be a priority for the post holder.

Hours:  40 hours per week (Part time considered)

Overview of site:

Adarna House is a new 9 bed step-down service forming part of our ASD specialist pathway from Adarna Ward at Cygnet Wyke. The service will be delivered in a new therapeutic setting to focus on each person’s recovery pathway.

We have a full multidisciplinary team to support people with Mental Health & ASD needs, consolidate the skills required to prepare for further independent living. We will offer evidenced-based assessment and treatment interventions as recommended by NICE (National Institute for Health Care Excellence) for individuals with autism spectrum disorder, that focus on the differences of experience which falls under four main categories:

thinking differences, social differences, emotional differences and sensory and movement differences. This ensures that we provide high quality care to our service users, their families and carers. With the right support, our service users will be able to live a more fulfilling life.

A registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council)
