Job Summary
Working as part of the finance team and reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will be responsible for facilitating the Management Reporting reviewing overheads and identifying significant variances for the two agencies that you will preside over. The role will include accurately accounting for projects at month end by liaising with project teams and producing month end reporting by market and by project.
The role shall include duties such as Revenue Recognition, Reporting for month end, Project reporting and other ad-hoc duties as they arise

Responsibilities:
Month End
Liaising with project management team re; direct cost status on projects
Performing a hard close of the system during month end processes.
Collecting and updating project timeline information. For ongoing projects, identifying the stage of completion in conjunction with project teams.
Consulting with project teams/ project management department and using detailed knowledge of projects to calculate accurate job accruals.
Calculating accrued income, deferred income and WIP adjustments
Reconciling project-related balances (balance sheet and income statement) in the nominal ledger to project level reports.
Run month and year end routines on the accounting software, ensuring adequate back-ups and reports are run during the process. This includes offering support to running revaluations on foreign currency balances.
Analysis of pipeline to assist in forecasting and planning, and report to group regarding backlog of revenue
Analyse and interpret the results of the UK business, comparing results to forecast and prior month to identify variances. Investigate/provide explanations as necessary to ensure reported results are robust.
Analysis & other tasks
Booking in jobs on the accounting system and maintaining other project level data systems
Producing weekly bookings and proposal reports, as well as ad hoc analysis
Provide visibility on projects/ GP in the future and weekly pipeline reports
Ensure VAT codes are properly applied to purchase and sales ledger input.
Prepare the quarterly VAT return, together with a reconciliation to Dimensions, and ensure it is filed online to the statutory deadline.
Maintain the costing tool that the business uses- be well versed in the functionality of the tool and support the research team in their costing efforts
Reporting pack:
Confirm intercompany balances with other group entities and ensure the balances reported in the pack are accurate.
Support Financial controller with pack submission
Other tasks
Complete VAT returns for both agencies
Complete Office for national statistics forms and submit in a timely manner
Support the commercial team in completing client cost grids when required
