Pareto are currently looking for a General Maintenance Engineer to join us on a permanent basis.

Key Skills:
In-depth knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical engineering/plumbing.

To assist Facilities team in day to day activities as and when required.

Manage and ‘own’ the day to day reactive maintenance list ensuring tasks are completed within agreed timescales.

Play a key role in supporting other members of the team with their ‘day to day’ work.

Support in facilitating (and sometimes undertaking) regular periodic inspections including all statutory, mandatory requirements and insurance inspections.

To maintain the efficiency and safety of M&E installations including compressed air, boilers, installations

Ensure day to day compliance activities are undertaken including emergency equipment tests and routing water maintenance.

Maintain records for statutory testing and inspection, technical records, files, drawings, and reports.

Support the arrangements in place to enable subcontractors to undertake routine and emergency breakdown maintenance both in and out of hours. Supervise/sign off subcontractor works on completion to ensure all requirements are met.

Support with the specification of new and ongoing projects.

Be an active member of the facilities team to support in health and safety, risk assessments and ensuring ongoing compliance with our associated accreditations.

Undertake other works of a similar nature as required and directed by the client and Pareto FM Account Manager.

Be a client facing member of the facilities team, ensuring customer service standards are maintained at all times.

Supporting other BSI sites as required.

Must be able to work unsupervised to a high quality.

Must be familiar with the general risks and hazards associated with building work including asbestos.

An understanding of legal compliance; as well as how to achieve and maintain it to a high standard.

Great communicator for both internal and external stakeholders

Have a good eye for innovation and improvement of existing systems and processes

Must have experience of using Microsoft Windows based systems to a basic level.

C&G Electrical Installation, Testing 2391/2394/2395/AM2

C&G Mechanical Engineering

C&G Plumbing

Another recognised trade skill to a high level (i.e Pressurised Systems, Refrigerants, or General Building Trades)

Full UK Driving License

C&G Legionella Awareness (L8)

Asbestos Awareness

Manual Handling

PAT Testing

Relevant HSE qualification

IPAF 3a/3b

Fork Truck Licence


Understanding of working to ISO standards such as 45001/27001/14001.


Proactive and professional.

Ability to work alone but also as a support role to other trades.

Able to self motivate and set your own goals.

Be prepared to work in a hands on role.

Highly client focused with can do attitude.

Smart appearance with good customer service ethic.

Computer literate across Microsoft Office suite (desirable).
