Your new company
A fantastic Teaching Assistant job has arisen to join the SEN team in an ambitious mainstream Secondary school based in Tameside. The appointed candidate will work with the SENCO and the Teaching Assistant Team to help our pupils who receive additional support in and outside of lessons.
Your new role
A Long-Term SEN Teaching Assistant job working within the Special Needs Department. As a special educational needs (SEN) teaching assistant you’ll work with children with various low level SEN who need extra support, or require an advanced programme of learning, to reach their full educational potential. This school requires an SEN Learning Support Assistant who is available to start immediately. You will be supporting the child to develop their independent learning within the classroom and gain confidence in their learning. You will work closely with the class teachers to provide assistance for individual children helping them to access the curriculum within the classroom.
32.5 hours per week

What you’ll need to succeed
It is essential that you have SEND Teaching assistant experience, team teach training would be desirable.
Strong behaviour management skills are a must.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with pupils in a variety of settings
Team working skills to liaise with other teachers, teaching assistants, and other professionals such as speech and language therapists and social workers.
All candidates will either need to hold a current and valid DBS certificate registered with the update service or be willing to make an application for a new enhanced disclosure.
