Junior Software Engineers Job at Bravissimo – in Leamington Spa
Full Time 2 Roles Available
Deadline for applications
Thursday, 29 July 2021
Bravissimo is a dynamic, entrepreneurial company which, since its launch in 1995, has grown to a £60m turnover business, with 27 stores (including one in the USA) and a well-established e-commerce operation. We offer a range of lingerie and swimwear to fit and flatter women who wear a D-L cup (28 to 40 back sizes).
Whilst the business has grown, our purpose remains the same as it did in 1995, to inspire our customers to feel amazing about themselves. We set ourselves high standards and are constantly looking for ways to improve what we do to offer the best experience for our customers. Our people are at the heart of our business and we regularly feature in the Sunday Times Top 100 companies to work for.
Like many retailers, we have suffered during the pandemic, but thanks to our strong financials we have emerged in a good place. We’re now ready to get back to our ambitious plans for the future which means finding the right people to help us continue crafting a customer experience that we’re proud of.
About the role
We are looking for junior software engineers to join our agile team and help us develop applications that support our business and customers, from product lifecycle management, merchandising and warehouse management through to stock logistics, point of sale and e-commerce.
You will get involved across the full lifecycle of an application – design, implementation, testing, release, support and ongoing enhancements. You will also have a real voice to contribute your ideas and innovation to create growth and opportunity within the business.
We are open-minded and forward-looking, evaluating the best tool or technology for the job, and sharing insights on new tech, approaches or specific code we’ve seen. We’re all enthusiastic and passionate about the field we work in!
You’ll be a competent and self-motivated engineer, and whilst you’ll still have much to learn, you’ll be able to demonstrate your progress so far; any retail experience would be of interest.
We don’t expect you to know all the technologies we use. What really matters is your ability to understand concepts quickly, work with fresh ideas in an agile environment and contribute as appropriate. We’re looking for someone passionate about technology, hungry to learn with us and also keen to share your findings internally and with the wider development community.
You will have a logical mind and good attention to detail, able to craft a polished product from design materials provided (a strong command of CSS and web standards is going to really help). As we trade around the clock you will also need to provide occasional out-of-hours support.
As a good communicator, you’ll be keen to get involved in discussions and debates and express your own views. Whenever you see room for improvement you won’t be afraid to speak up, and you’ll readily ask questions, hit Google/StackOverflow or use our Pluralsight subscription if you’re not sure about something. You will have your ear to the ground of the development community, keeping abreast of what’s going on.
Whilst your skills and experience are of interest to us, your mindset, understanding of our business purpose and learning agility are of equal importance.
