Merseyside Police is looking to recruit an experienced Recruitment Team Leader to join our team based in our Liverpool City Centre Headquarters (due to move in early 2022 to our new HQ in Rose Hill L3 3BZ). The newly appointed individual will work closely with the People team and senior staff to oversee the execution of the overall recruitment strategy, maximising candidate attraction and raising interest in the organisation as an employer of choice.

Key Responsibilities

Managing the full recruitment lifecycle of recruitment processes from attraction, screening, and assessment centres through to offer management and timely on-boarding of new hires for volume campaigns and all Police Staff and Specialist officer roles

Developing and influencing Line Managers in resourcing and selection activity, including considering future needs and capability gaps

Utilising the e-recruitment system to support the recruitment process ensuring that all data is accurate and up to date and compliant

Attracting and sourcing for candidates using different platforms including the applicant tracking system, job boards and social media

Working collaboratively with the HR community and other key stakeholders to engage fully in the resourcing needs of the organisation

Contribute to the validation, review, development and implementation of resourcing processes and provide timely and accurate associated management information to inform decision making

Design, deliver and attend attraction and selection events including open evenings, careers fairs and assessment centres

Key Requirements

Previous experience working in an internal Resourcing/Recruitment role at Advisor/Team Leader level is essential, ideally within a Public Sector (or similar environment)

Level 3 CIPD qualified, or working towards CIPD qualification

Strong client/candidate focus and commitment to continuous improvement as we strive to be an employer of choice

Demonstrates strong time prioritisation skills, embraces change and demonstrates flexibility and initiative when priorities shift with a strong attention to detail

Understanding of HR/Employment legislation specifically relating to recruitment

Ability to coach and assist the development of Line Managers through competency based assessments and other selection methods

Experience of working on an Applicant Tracking System and/or HR systems

Proven track record of managing the end to end recruitment process including volume campaigns

Expertise in utilising a breadth of attraction methods with direct sourcing experience including social media channels

Proven record of building strong working relationships with stakeholders, candidates, wider HR team and 3rd party suppliers
