Role Summary

As our Group Marketing Assistant you will work within our extremely busy but fun Retail Support Centre (RSC). Our RSC has one sole aim – to support the business in day to day trading – whether that’s our high street stores, tour operations, finance and accounts or our digital channels (our customer facing websites, social media channels or booking systems for third party travel agents booking our amazing holiday deals).

The Group Marketing Assistant will oversee both digital and social media campaigns as well as create copy for our high street stores ‘in print’ campaigns (window posters, in store POS etc). This will be your chance to shine and get your creative juices flowing.

What is our Group?

We consist of a group of exciting travel brands:

– World Travel Lounge is our chain of high street retail travel agent stores across Lancashire
– Vacation Money Exchange is our joint-venture foreign exchange currency bureau service
– Chillimix is our brand new LGBTQ+ travel business (the most fun and dynamic LGBTQ+ business to launch – and will also be the only dedicated product sold through travel agent partners)

Key Responsibilities

  • Development and implementation of agreed campaigns by working with the brand, retail and tour operating leadership team
  • Management of projects from concept through to delivery
  • Creative and constructive contributions to meetings with a confidence to ‘challenge the norm’
  • Support the ‘Omni-Channel’ travel consultant team to improve engagement through our social media channels
  • Initiative to utilise all assets to deliver a strong ROI on all projects
  • Attend regular marketing planning meetings with the Senior Leadership team

About You

  • Previous experience of social media
  • Experience including but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok
  • Desirable knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • An excellent understanding of the wider digital industry
  • Confident communicator and presenter at all levels
  • The ability to think laterally and be open-minded and open to change

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • The ability to negotiate and achieve desired outcomes
  • Appropriately assertive with a wide range of people
  • Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Strong administration skills with excellent time management skills
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Desirable: Competent in the use of Canva, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Desirable: Knowledge of the travel industry
