An exciting opportunity for an ATA28 Engineer has arisen at APSYS in Bristol.

The Major Modifications team activities include all structural and systems related activities linked to major changes to ATA28 Systems Equipment. With product Safety always in mind, these activities include support to new equipment/systems design, upgrade to existing systems, addition of new functions and resolutions of existing issues to systems and equipment.

Initially your position is predominantly aimed at supporting the development activities associated with the Fuel system and subsystems.

You will be working with other ATA28 Engineers and Level 1 signatories along with interfacing with Fuel systems vendors to ensure the development of technical solutions integrated with other ATA28 equipment and other Aircraft ATA chapters.

As member of the APSYS team you will;

  • Contribute to maintain the positive working environment of APSYS,
  • Contribute to the delivery of APSYS Objectives.
  • Active participation in cross-APSYS sharing of lessons learnt.

Key activities of this role will include:
Support Airbus Commercial ATA28 System activities, including introducing new functionality to systems. The role will include involvement in changes to systems functionality, software changes and Hardware changes, with the possibility to be involved in hydraulic equipment design. Ensure robust cascade of requirements to the system, and lead development of the system to meet the requirements.

Interface with the Systems Certification Specialist and technical signatories to ensure compliance to certification requirements and methodology.

Ensuring adherence to budget and schedule for each activity; managing and mitigating risks/opportunities and communicating in a timely manner.

Definition of the System development activities required within a Statement of Work (SoW) for each task, deriving planning and resource needs.

Ensuring that the delivery of each activity meets Safety and technical needs, following the appropriate processes and procedures, demonstrating strong requirement adherence and V&V.

Ensuring strong links with all stakeholders, including experts and specialists, Vendors, Procurement, Customer Services, FAL as required; communicating task progress and realistic commitments.

Managing and coordinating the ATA28 system input to Design Reviews including Process Assurance.

Managing the offloading of activities to E2S suppliers.

Proactively problem-solve issues and ensure the maturity of the product is maintained

Are you THE one ?

Educated to degree level in Engineering or a related discipline.

Experience within Engineering, ideally supporting Fuel system design activities.

Experience of requirement management, including use of DOORS is desirable.

Demonstrated task management, with delivery to Time, Cost and Quality.

Strong communication skills in both verbal and written English.
