Job Description

Job Purpose

The Education, Training & Employment Coordinator will support the development and coordination of all aspects of the Foundation’s Route to Employment Programmes, for young people aged 11 – 25 years old. He/she will support the delivery arrangements for specified employability provision across the Foundation including,

Resilience Leadership Programmes, the RESET 123 Social Mobility Programmes at the Academy, Re- Engagement Programmes and the Government Kickstart Traineeship Programme via the EFLT. The post-holder will work closely with all colleagues of the Foundation to ensure our referral processes and delivery meet the needs of our participants and develop mechanisms to support our Routes to Employment Programmes in the following key areas: Enrolment, Induction, Assessment, Quality Assurance, Learner Support and Employability.

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities/Job Summary

  • Work with the ETE Manager to define employability provision aligned to young people’s needs, demography, contractual requirements and budgets
  • Support the design, development and implementation of all Route to Employment Programmes and courses, in line with relevant standards and regulations
  • Be a coach and mentor to sessional staff and pursue excellence and innovation in teaching and learning
  • Support relationships with Crystal Palace Football Club (CPFC), key suppliers/employers and stakeholders
  • Network with external organisations and partners to identify and secure employability opportunities for Foundation participants including enabling corporate and individual volunteers to co-develop and deliver provision
  • Develop delivery in order to maximise progression opportunities for participants
  • Ensure that key project information is recorded, analysed and disseminated as appropriate
  • Work collaboratively with staff using verbal and written reports to ensure accurate and timely progress reviews, to meet the requirements of awarding and funding bodies.
  • Develop a network database of employers and voluntary organisations to broker work placements, learning activities and work opportunities
  • To ensure all work is in line with the Policies and guidelines/procedures as adopted and adhered to by the Foundation.
  • Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities considered appropriate by the Senior Management Team of the Foundation

Knowledge/Experience/Technical Skills

Essential: –

Knowledge

  • Diploma in Education, Youth Work or Criminology or Equivalent
  • Knowledge of Traineeships and/or Apprenticeships within work-based learning environments
  • Knowledge of key employers who provide apprenticeship opportunities
  • Knowledge of safeguarding reporting processes and procedures
  • Ability to recognise safeguarding concerns and report appropriately
  • Willingness to engage with safeguarding training as directed

Experience

  • Experience working with young people who are NEET or ‘hard to reach’
  • Experience working in FE Colleges delivering on Study Programmes/Traineeships/Apprenticeships
  • Experience mentoring staff/facilitators/tutors
  • Must have excellent facilitation skills
  • Previous experience with education / audit software
  • Experience of monitoring learner progress using standard college database systems
  • Experience of evaluating programmes, analysing qualitative and quantitative data.

Technical Skills

  • Working knowledge of Excel
  • Literacy & Numeracy to Level 2
  • Curriculum Development and Lesson Planning Skills

Knowledge

  • TAQA/A1 Assessor Qualification
  • IQA (Internal Verifier Qualification)
  • Knowledge of the changes in Apprenticeship Standards

Experience

  • Experience delivering on Study Programmes/Traineeships/Apprenticeships in a Community Football Foundation environment

Technical Skills

  • InDesign Brochure Design Skills
  • First Aid Certificate
  • DBS

Abilities/Attributes

  • Ability to coach and mentor teams
