Daisychain Childcare was established in 2010 and has grown significantly and we have now moved to a larger setting. We are a team of experienced practitioners who’s primary focus is to provide outstanding quality childcare. We have a strong emphasis about learning through play and believe every child is unique. We understand children are individuals and as such we tailor activities and experiences to each child.

Who we are looking for..

Daisychain Childcare are seeking a caring, dynamic, enthusiastic Level 3 Early Years Practitioner.

You will need to be able to think on your feet and have the ability to plan in the moment and adapt to childrens interests and needs, It is important that you are an excellent communicator, building effective and lasting relationships with children (understanding what makes children ‘tick’), parents and carers as well as with your colleagues and other professionals.

Have the ability to provide the best possible care to each and every child at the setting, creating safe yet stimulating environments in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage. Participate in planning thought provoking activities and experiences to ensure children receive the knowledge and skills for what comes next in life.

Be critical, have the ability to reflect and analyse your practice effectively through self evaluation. Understand how to observe, assess and plan to ensure children are supported throughout their time at Daisychain.

Understand and implement Safeguarding practices as well as have a regard for health and safety, welfare requirements and the Prevent Agenda.

What you will need..

Minimum Level 3 Qualification in Childcare/Early Years (Minimum 2 years experience)

GCSE Maths, English, Science at Grade C/4 or above

A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work in a team

Excellent organisational skills

Flexible Approach to working hours/days

A current paediatric first aid certificate (desirable)

Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable)

Makaton (desirable)

Full Enhanced DBS Certificate (desirable)

About the Role…

The role is diverse and no two days will be the same.. Our staff understand how to motivate children to learn, explore and take risks within a safe environment. We encourage children to develop reciprocal relationships with other children and adults.

Main tasks involve, but are not limited to:

Using the EYFS to support childrens learning and development and measuring progress of key children.

Update and maintain learning diaries of your key children as well as work with other practitioners to ensure accurate observations are completed on each child at the setting

Use observation and reflective practice and evaluation to contribute to planning thought-provoking experiences for the children.

Assisting with childrens’ personal hygiene routines

Assisting with meal and snack preparation

To note and report changes in children’s behaviour, development and wellbeing to the manager/deputy.

To respect confidentiality within the setting. It is not acceptable to discuss or disclose any details of your work, the children or their families to anyone.

To provide support to the families of the children in our care.

To act as an advocate when communicating with other professionals such as Social Workers, Health visitors etc.

Participate in continuous personal development. Staying abreast of current research, and participating in courses and meetings both within the setting and externally. (these may not be during your working hours)

Participate fully in Early Years inspections and liaise with inspectors when requested.

To complete regular reviews and communication with Key childrens’ parents or carers.

To maintain resources, equipment and furniture within the setting and contribute to other such jobs that are deemed necessary for the effective running of the nursery

To positively contribute to a secure nursery environment for children, staff, parents/carers, students or visitors.

Smoking is not permitted where meetings are held or where public / children/ families are in contact with nursery Staff. Smoking is forbidden on the settings grounds & premises. Staff are not allowed to smoke in their uniforms at any time.
