Description

Salary: £25,481 – £27,041 FTE (£22,016 – £23,364 pro rata)

The role:
You will ensure access to the curriculum for all pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities within the Academy and support the effective co-ordination and identification of need, appropriate intervention and mentoring. This role will have some pupil supervision duties.

You will also monitor and evaluate the impact of the interventions for all pupils requiring additional support. You will support the SENDCo in the supervision and timetabling of Learning Assistants.

We are looking for someone who:
has high professional standards and excellent interpersonal skills

is able to demonstrate a range of behaviour management strategies and engagement skills

is well organised and have high expectations of achievement

has experience of working in a school in a SEN environment

possess a First aid at work qualification or willingness to undertake one

SIMs database experience an advantage.

The City of Peterborough Academy was opened in September 2013 by Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) after a £13.8m capital build. Based on Reeves Way in Peterborough, the academy has quickly grown from strength to strength. A dedicated team of staff aim to help support every child in reaching their full potential. Additionally, we have been described as a truly ‘inclusive school’ at our recent National Inclusion Quality Mark inspection and have also been awarded ‘Centre of Excellence Status’.
