Job Description

Beats Learning was formed to help people at risk of social exclusion achieve a qualification in music and/or performing arts. We are now helping young people into work by offering fully supported Study Programmes, Traineeships and Apprenticeships.
Beats Learning offers our learners an alternative to mainstream college by providing small groups with experienced supportive staff who are trained to understand some of the problems our students face. Learning is creative and our courses allow individuals to work at their own pace. Beats Learning has a friendly atmosphere, with staff available to listen and assist with any problems that may arise.

As the successful teacher you will possess the following skills:
– Good subject knowledge in either Maths or English (we will be accepting applications for those qualified in other areas too)
– Empathetic and patient attitude
– Ability to work to the school’s schemes of work and provide constructive and effective feedback
– Good time management to fully utilise the sessions and give students the best support possible
– Experience working with challenging behaviour

Main Responsibilities

  • Delivery of English and Maths sessions to 16-24 year old learners
  • Teach according to the quality standards set for the course
  • Produce and deliver Ofsted quality session plans
  • Ensure high accreditation pass rates
  • Maintain effective tutor records
  • Conduct initial learner assessment
  • Produce session evaluation and improvements
  • Develop and produce an engaging and effective Scheme of Work
  • Manage learner behaviour in the training room by establishing and maintaining learner code of conduct
  • Responsible for ordering and monitoring of resources
  • Other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the Line Manager or Head of Department
  • Actively follow Beats Learning policies e.g. Safeguarding, Data Protection etc

As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and amended in consultation with the post holder

Salary: £20,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
