CIVIL ENFORCEMENT OFFICER (Ref: EH0021)

GRADE 3

Salary range £20,751 – £22,911 p.a + Overtime

PERMANENT 37 HOURS (based on a rota system including weekends and bank holidays)

We are looking to recruit highly motivated individuals who can demonstrate a commitment to customer service whilst providing efficient and effective parking enforcement across East Hampshire and Havant.

The post holder is required to patrol Council operated car parks and highways within the East Hampshire District and/or the Borough of Havant as required. This includes issuing Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) for specified parking contraventions, inspecting parking permits for validity and addressing public enquiries regarding parking and general information. Essential requirements for the role include having the ability to adopt a fair but firm approach, when issuing PCNs and being able to maintain written and electronic records. Duties will include daily patrols on foot and in a liveried patrol vehicle, mostly alone but occasionally as part of a small team.

A good level of general education is required. A background in enforcement would be an advantage, although not essential. Full training and uniform is provided, as is support from the friendly team. We offer an excellent pension scheme and many other benefits.

Working as an ambassador for the council, you will help the public with any ad hoc enquiries and offer assistance to them as and when required.

A valid full manual driving license is an essential requirement of this post, as is a good level of physical fitness and the ability to withstand working all day in a variety of adverse weather conditions.
