Business Development Manager Job at Lateral Technology Limited in Cheltenham
Lateral Technology is actively seeking a high-performing, enthusiastic, driven and flexible self-starter Business Development Manager to help us progress the company to the next stage of our exciting growth plans!
You will be responsible for driving new business into the company. You will do this by building rapport through initially online engagement (mainly LinkedIn, some email too) and then calling prospects to build rapport and then set up introductory meetings. These will be your own qualified leads generated largely through drilling down through company data and focusing in on our target markets for 2021 and beyond.
As online engagement is such a significant part of our sales plan, candidates should have an active LinkedIn account they’re willing to use and plenty of demonstrable experience in utilising LI for sales purposes (Sales Navigator experience is great!)
You will consistently hit your targets and be part of the management team who design and implement an even bigger strategic sales plan for the future.
Due to the nature of our target market (Councils & Government), tenders form a part of our sales plan. You will be required to keep abreast of open tenders and be confident and happy to complete these (often rather large!) tender bids.
You will be pro-active and confident in presenting sales, revenue and forecast data to upper management.
You will work using your own initiative to be able to identify emerging markets and trends and report back on competitors products and services.
You must have at least 3 – 5 years of sales experience – software / technical / financial is preferred. If you have any experience selling into Councils / Government this will be looked upon very favourably.
Proven track record of using LinkedIn for sales prospecting (please be prepared to show evidence of this).
You must have a clear ability to communicate in all forms, at all levels of the company – impeccable writing skills are required, as well as being a great orator.
Strong business acumen and excellent people skills are needed for this role.
Tender experience preferred, although not essential.

£45K basic + commission + bonus (OTE £80K+)
