Assistant Depot Manager

Galway, Ireland

Full Time, permanent position

What You’ll Do:
Supervise the functions and working of the warehouse.

Work closely and efficiently with the HUB Operations Manager to ensure the overall department outperforms expectations.

Ensure all work flows consistently throughout the day.

Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded

Organize and conduct necessary training activities for the staff and workers.

Supervise proper shift allocations and ensure efficiency of all staff.

Arrange necessary resources as required to ensure the shifts plan is covered.

Monitor and report on weekly spend and financial activity.

Accurately, quickly, and clearly answer questions related to your area of focus.

Partner closely with a variety of groups company-wide, including transportation, data integration, warehousing (FC), engineering and others to coordinate cross functional projects.

Ensure high levels of Customer Service are maintained in the HUB operation to provide best in class customer experiences at every opportunity.

A track record of taking on big challenges and delivering despite obstacles and limited resources

Responsible for implementing the Health and Safety Management System within their area of responsibility and taking steps to ensure that hazards are identified, eliminated or minimized.

What You’ll Need:
Minimum 2 years of management experience in similar environment (Parcels / Large Parcels preferred) at a supervisory or similar level

A customer-centric approach, and the ability to build positive partnerships with internal and external groups to optimize performance.

Must be flexible and able to work weekends (when required)

Proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement and driving process improvements.

Strong leadership skills, ability to build and manage teams and hold an engaging daily meeting with your team.

Must have a good understanding of the investigation and disciplinary process.

Innovative and creative problem-solving skills – dissect and determine root causes of problems, and implement solutions

Health and Safety knowledge Ability to learn and act quickly, make decisions and draw conclusions in the face of ambiguity

Numerical and literacy skills to compile reports and necessary documentation as required.
