Assistant Defence Establishment Security Officer

The ADESyO is to assist (and act as alternative) DESyO in the coordination of all aspects of establishment security, counter terrorism, counter sabotage and advice on security matters and will act as STRAPSO for the establishment. This post is responsible for the following key areas: To co-ordinate all aspects of physical, documentary, and personnel security within the establishment. Liaise and work as the alternative IT Security Officer (ITSO) as/when required, to ensure all aspects of IT/CYBER security are correctly managed. Assist ITSO/Security Admin Officer in monitoring and reporting CYBER/Social Media information pertinent to RNAS Yeovilton stakeholders and VL Command. To co-ordinate the preparations for external Security Assurance Visits and Inspections by the PSyA Security Assurance Team and carry out actions required for self-assessments. The ADESyO is authorised to take whatever measures are necessary to ensure that security rules are being observed. When authorised by the ESyO he/she may make spot checks of any department, Squadron or section without prior warning to note security measures in force and impound any protectively marked material not properly secured.

Responsibilities

Due to the nature of the appointment, the successful candidate will be expected to undertake Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance. The postholder will also be expected to attend and complete the following job-related training:
