Overview:

Learning disability charity Brandon Trust has an opportunity to join our area finance team based in Bristol at our Head Office as a Finance Assistant. During COVID -19 you will be required to work from home. Brandon exists to enable children, young people and adults with a learning disability, autism or both, to live life in the way they choose. We provide high-quality, individualised support to around 1,600 people and have a staff team of over 2,000.

You may have recently finished education or you may be considering a change of career; we provide career development opportunities and potentially for the right candidate, support to study for further qualifications. This is a busy, varied role where you’ll work closely with the area managers and operational staff, who cover the Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and London regions.

About the role:
Reporting to the Area Assistant Accountant, and working closely with the other area finance assistants, you’ll reconcile income generated by electronic call monitoring systems, to the income received by Brandon. You’ll also reconcile area imprest accounts, bank reconciliations and appointeeship documentation.

You’ll raise and record area invoices and provide support, advice and training to operational staff and budget holders. Assisting the team to carry out financial internal audits, you’ll also provide other financial analysis.

About you:
Ideally you’re able to demonstrate sound financial knowledge, you’ll have experience of double entry book-keeping and of sales ledger accounting with some understanding of credit control. You’ll have some experience in maintaining cash book and bank reconciliation and of modular integrated accounting packages.

You’ll have excellent communication skills and the ability to develop good relationships with colleagues. Organised and able to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines, you can work independently.

The recruitment process will comprise of work based tests and interviews. During the COVID-19 our recruitment process will be adapted accordingly therefore you will require computer access at home for the work based tests. Interviews will take place via video conference call, ideally via Microsoft Teams.
