Apprentice-Civil Engineering Technician Job at Derbyshire County Council – in Matlock
Apprenticeships combine formal learning and on-the-job learning with a view to gaining nationally recognised qualifications and begin a career path. Working alongside an experienced team you will mainly be responsible for providing high levels of customer service and provision of technical support and assistance helping to ensure delivery of the Highways Capital Programme. In return Derbyshire County Council will commit the necessary resources to ensure you are adequately supported during your apprenticeship.
This is an exciting time to join Derbyshire County Council as we start the delivery of an £80m three-year capital programme. This will include a wide variety of projects including new road construction, bridges and structures, drainage, land remediation, walking and cycling improvements, and road safety. The breadth of schemes will ensure the successful candidates receive an excellent foundation from which to start their Civil Engineering career including areas such as surveying, feasibility/preliminary/detailed design preparation, procurement procedures, production of drawings, and even site supervision.
