2nd Line Support Engineer Job at Brio Digital – in Halifax
Brio Digital are partnered with a growing organisation in Halifax who, owing to strong interest in the fantastic services they offer, are growing their technical teams. This opportunity is on their Service desk and is for an experienced 2nd Line Support Engineer to join an existing team. This team is responsible for working closely with external customers to troubleshoot and Remedy more complex issues and tickets which come up from the 1st Line team. You’ll be involved in a very wide range of technologies from Servers to Networking, InfoSec to End User Computing and anything in between. The organisation is offering more and more Cloud based services so this is an opportunity to gain experience in those areas too. The 2nd Line team are involved with troubleshooting some server issues and they have the ability to do some basic networking-type troubleshooting too, so this is not a standard 2nd Line role where you will only deal with Desktop related issues.
As the 2nd Line Support Engineer it is imperative that you have strong customer facing skills. You will liaise directly with customers, so being able to hold a conversation with them is important. In terms of technology experience, you must have the ability to log onto a server to troubleshoot issues. And, ideally, you’ll have some networking experience to the extent where you can test to see if a network device is performing properly. You should have experience in other areas such as Active Directory, Exchange, O365, Windows 10, Anti-Virus and Firewalls.
